Tim Bergeland
Tim is a third-year M.Div student at Yale Divinity School. He hails from Minnesota (Minneapolis area) and is currently pursuing ordination in the Lutheran church (ELCA). Tim is passionate about spiritual care, faith-based advocacy, and contemplative prayer, and he is grateful to have deepened his learning in these areas through a variety of experiences at Yale: interfaith chaplaincy work at Bridgeport Hospital; an internship at the Lutheran Office for World Community, a New York-based office that engages in faith-based advocacy at the United Nations; and participation in and occasional leadership of weekly Taizé-style prayers for the Yale community. Tim cherishes his Lutheran faith and enjoys serving as one of the co-leaders for the Lutheran Student Organization at YDS. Tim feels blessed to be able to join with Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church as they listen for and discern the Spirit’s call for their community during this process of reimagination. In his spare time, Tim loves to hang out with friends, run, dance, bake sourdough, and cheer on the Minnesota sports teams (go Twins)!
