Sutton Smith is a third-year student in the Master of Divinity program at Yale Divinity School. Originally from Auburn, AL, she earned her B.A. in History and Religion from Birmingham-Southern College in 2021. Sutton is a candidate for ordination in the Alabama-West Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church. She is the leader of Yale Progressive Christian Students, an interdenominational student organization at Yale College. After YDS, Sutton hopes to join the work to create more inclusive faith communities in the South. Sutton is facilitating the reimagining work of Cornerstone Community Church, a Methodist congregation in Norwalk, CT.
