Jonathan Maresca is a seminarian in his final year at Yale Divinity School where he is in formation to be a priest in the Episcopal Church. He is a native of Long Island, and he will be serving in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas after graduation. After a brief foray into management consultancy, Jonathan shifted his focus from what it means for businesses to thrive to what it means for humans to thrive. Jonathan sees the Christian contemplative tradition and Benedictine spirituality as offering a wellspring of wisdom to the questions of human flourishing. He feels drawn to share the ancient practices of the contemplative life with a world saturated with stimulation and eager for stillness.

While in seminary, Jonathan has been blessed to serve alongside so many as a hospital chaplain in Houston, TX, and a seminarian intern at St. Mark’s New Canaan and St. Gregory’s Woodstock. Jonathan holds a Master’s in International Development Practice from the University of St Andrews, specializing in locally-led approaches to community development. He also holds a dual degree in Accountancy and Finance from the University of San Diego. Jonathan is serving as the Reimagining Church facilitator at Zion Episcopal Church in North Brandford because he finds promise when Christian community comes together with unbridled surrender and tenacious hope for God’s “new thing” being born in our midst. To live with such a graced awareness is the Christian life, and he is excited to join the pilgrimage.
