I am in my third year of the M.Div. program in Andover-Newton Theological Seminary at YDS. I am pursuing ordination in the United Church of Christ and am a member-in-discernment at the Congregational Church of Middlebury, Vermont. My call to ministry and subsequent arrival at YDS came in the midst of a career as a Professor of Biology and Environmental Studies at Middlebury College in Vermont, where I also served as the VP for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty. I did research on climate change in the forests of Alaska and Siberia and taught courses on climate change, ecology, and evolution.

My interest in ecology and climate change is following me into ministry as a passion for environmental and creation justice. And I carry with me - from my work as a college administrator - a deep interest in organizational change. It is that interest that led me to the Reimagining Church program. I look forward, as a student facilitator, to doing - and learning how to do - the work of reimagining how to be Church for these times we're living in.
