When I first heard about Reimagining the Church and that our church (Zion Episcopal, North Branford) was applying to be a part of it, I thought “fantastic!”. We’re a small church that has so much spirit and love and we do our best to share what we have with anyone who needs a helping hand; yet we could use some help with getting that out past the red doors.
Advent is a time of waiting, expectation, and watchfulness for the God who has come, who is coming, and who is yet to come.
Zion Episcopal Church is a light of devotion. When I first stepped into Zion last month, I was amazed, not only by the lush and historic property it sits on, but the heart of the people.
Zion Episcopal has been a presence in North Branford for over 200 years and is known as “the little church with a big heart.” We gather for joyful worship, study, community, and service and strive to use our gifts and resources for God’s mission of reconciliation and restoration. We believe that every human being is a beloved child of God and welcome all who seek the healing love of Christ regardless of age, sex, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression or socioeconomic status.
